Things I should be doing

Instead of writing a blog about my day, I should be:

  • doing summer reading
  • cleaning my room
  • making my bed on *new* furniture
This is what I did today:

I woke up extremely tired. I got ready for church and drove myself there. Yay! The sermon Tom preached was on marriage. It was really interesting, and I actually took notes (for once) haha. Then I came home, ate some lunch, and watched Maria Full of Grace. Its about a pregnant girl who has to eat 62 pellets of drugs (grapesized pellets!) and bring them to the USA. It was inspiring. After that, the movers came but the side of the bed had a dent in it, so they went back to the store (half an hour away in the city). The mattress I got was definitely NOT the one we payed for. It was an extremely fancy one, and I wanted to tell them they made a mistake. But my parents kept me quiet. :/ After that, I ate dinner, the movers came back, and Micah came and picked me up. We went to Cottonwood youth group. That was really fun. Then I came home to finished new furniture.

Currents:

My breakfast included a tortilla, green chile, beans, and fried potatoes. The tomato was extra. This is what breakfast looked like right before I devoured it:

And here is what I got in the mail through Swapbot from Susi Trenery, and I have linked it to her Etsy shop.

Finally, here is my little project of the day:

A Chair!! We've had this sitting in the garage for three years, because it is too 'lime and pink.' Since it was in the 'going to the junkyard' pile, I decided to use it for my own benefit. If you look closely, you can see what I've done. Before, it was a simple on-the-floor chair like this:

We attached a black stool sans-seat to the bottom. Because the original chair was a rocker, we had to put in a piece of wood. It acts as a balance, so that the chair is not leaning back. It is very comfortable!

Between projects, mail, and breakfast, I watched a few movies.

Igby Goes Down was a fantastic movie, although depressing, about a pathological liar who ends up killing his mother, by her wishes. It sounds grotesque, but its very comical. Sort of leaves you feeling depressed though.

Premonition was very very sad. Since it is so new, I won't tell you much about it, but Sandra Bullock is a superb actress.

Running with Scissors was cheesy, depressing, and maniacal all at once. But also, very good.

Mon Rout

I thought that would mean "my routine" but it actually means "my sorts for mailing." Which works, too.

From now until December, I will be the busiest goose in the flock. I have EIGHT full classes. You got it. Eight total classes, five of which are college and the others are sciences, maths, histories, and English.

Let's go over them.

1. AP English 11. The teacher is fabulous, someone my sister had a while back. It is a college-level class, and arguably harder than actual college classes. If you've ever taken AP, you know what I'm talking about.

2. AP U.S. History. I've heard that the teacher is a nice guy but he chooses favorites (mostly based on whether you tease your hair or not lol) So I suppose I'll have to wear my hair very poofy now. Again-- college level class

3. Chemistry. I've heard nothing about the teacher or the class. All I know is that I hate chemistry and I will most likely doodle and write poetry in this class.. Pessimist, I know.

4. Government and Economy 12. This is going to be a wonderful class. First, a few of my trusted friends have told me the teacher is awesome. Second, it is an 'inclusion' class. There are general education students and special education students in the same class. We help each other. Last year, in my psychology class, we did something similar to this, but it was only once a week. Let's see how this turns out! I'm excited.

5. Trigonometry. My sister tells me the teacher is awful, and I'm not good at math to begin with. Let's hope its one of those "Do your work and You will pass" sort of classes. If not.. I'm screwed.

6. Intercultural Communications. I'm taking this online with a local community college. I've had two previous experiences with online classes. They were both very easy to pass, and on each test I could have my book in front of me and no one could know. The description tells me that it is "Analysis of intercultural encounters and development of skills for more effective intercultural communications." Comm 2281.

7. Cultural Studies. Also with the local college, online. Guess I'm into culture, huh? The description says, "Explores cultural constructions of differences, including but not limited to gender, race, ethnicity, social class, and sexual orientation in contemporary US society." CST 1150

8. Comparative Government and Politics. I'm really excited for this! I like studying different governments like communism and fascism. Description: "Compares the roles of public opinion, electoral systems, political parties, interest groups, gov't institutions, and policy performance in European democracies, developing third-world nations, and communist political systems. PSCI 2220

Well there you have it! Five college classes, one science, one math, and one gov't/econ. Joy!

Besides this craziness, I have to get a job. See, I purchased a bicycle. It is stunning, in an aquamarine color and shiny wheels. But the road from my home to the school has no sidewalk. It's terrible! Grr. Plus, there is construction from here to there so I'd most likely get run over. So much for helping the environment! Now I have to buy a stinkin 30 dollar parking permit, plus get gas every once in a while. And the parents refuse to pay for this all. Thus, I must get a job.

My sister works at a certain coffee corporation, along with a friend's sibling. I will try to use these as references and apply the heck outta Star____'s.

Also: New youth group. It is a really nice church and some of my friends go there. The first time I went, the message was on Romans 14. I'm hooked. It is every Sunday night. Also, as always, church on Sunday mornings at my home church, Faith.

So, lets break it down again. Eight classes, one job, two church functions, and Swap-Bot, Blogspot, and Craftster, plus various myspace and facebook activities, plus my hobby of sewing, my want to start a business on Etsy, and my need to at least try and go jogging or bike riding every week EQUALS:

The busiest semester of my life.
